"Inquest - An inquest was held on Saturday by Mr. Hopkinson, at the Royal Oak, Walton, on the body of Samuel Lee, aged 59 Station master at Walton, who, on the preceding afternoon in the act of crossing the railway after a coal train had passed, was knocked down by a goods train coming in an opposite direction.  His head and right thigh were fractured, and he died in a few minutes.  Verdict, accidental death".
