"At Peterboro' on the 15th inst., Thos. Hinch, aged 47, who for 16 years was ostler and brewer at the Royal Oak inn, Castor. He for many years never wore a hat, and will be long remembered for his eccenric habits by persons who travelled between Stamford and Peterborough".

On Monday the 20th of January 1817, upon the premises belonging to the late Mr. John Holmes, deceased, the Royal Oak, Castor, near Peterbo'

The entire HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE and other Effects; comprising four-post and tent sacking-bottom bedsteads, harrateen and check hangings, six feather-beds, mattreses and bedding complete; window-curtains, bed-side carpets, pier and dressing glasses; walnut-tree chest of drawers, dressing tables, oak dining and tea tables, wainscot bureau, two thirty-hour clocks, chamber and other chairs; Bath-stoves and fire-irons; china, glass, and earthenware; plated quarts and pints, pitchers and mugs, pewter, brass, and copper, pewter measures; range grate; washing copper, a variety of kitchen requisites; mahogany te-boards, tea-chests and japanned trays; beaufet, deal seat, pewter cases and dressers; beer thralls, wash kennels, buckets, tubs, and a variety of other articles.

Also a Risk of Hay, a small quatity of unthrashed Barley, a lot of Straw, Fan and Dressing-tackle, Fence Trays, Sow and Pigs, &c.

The sale to begin precisely at Ten o'clock, on account of the great number of lots.
