"An inquest was held by Mr. Hopkinson on Tuesday last, at the Fox and Hounds Inn, Longthorpe o the body of Sarah Ann Head, aged 6 years, who it appears had been left by her mother on the Friday previous in the care of a neighbour's wife named Daws, who carelessly left the child near the fire, and her pinafore and frock accidentally catching the flames, she was so severely burnt that she died on the following Monday.  Verdict, accidental death, from the carelessness of Maria Daws".

"Suicide. - An inquest was held at the Fox and Hounds, Longthorpe, a few days ago, before A. Percival, Esq., coroner, on the body of John Ball, aged 75, who had committed suice in a hovel at the back of his huse by cutting his throat with a razor.  The deceased had been attended by Mr. Southam, surgeon, for infirmity on account of old age, and had frequently expressed to his wife the wish that the Almighty would take him from this world.  He committed the rash act during her absence.  Verdict, temporary insanity".
