"CHARGE OF THEFT. - Edgar Scargill alias "Drummer," labourer, S. Leonard's-street, was charged on remand by Samuel W. Whitmore, innkeeper, Fletton, with stealing a box of instruments and a handkerchief, value 1l.2s.6d., from the Cherry Tree inn, Fletton, between 3d May and 21st July, 1891.  Pawn tickets for the articles were found on the prisoner, who had been engaged to do odd jobs.  Committed for trial".
