Suicide. - A painful ocurrence, which has created a melancholy sensation in this locality, took place at Woodstone on Friday last.  Mr Stephen Cave, aged 66, who for many years kept the Boat Inn, Peterboro', but had since retired from business, and for some time past had been living with Mr. Desborough, at the Boy's Head inn, Woodstone, committed suicide by tying a halter round his neck and hanging himself up to a beam in an out-house at the back of the inn.  He was first seen by the pot-boy beetween 4 and 5 o'clock p.m: the landlord cut him down whilst the body was yet warm, but the deceased never afterwards spoke.  Dr. Porter was in attendance soon after, and pronounced life extinct.  An inquest was held on the following day before Mr. W. Lawrence, jun., deputy coroner, when it was thought that the rash act been committed during a state of temporary de-rangement, and in the absence of any evidence to the contrary the jury delivered their verdict accordingly.
